HEEL PAIN/PLANTAR FASCIITIS

HEEL PAIN/PLANTAR FASCIITIS

One of the most common ailments we see here at Atlanta Podiatry Specialists is heel pain. Most patients complain that it’s been starting to ache for months but most recently it has gotten very painful. Since the pandemic has started, more people have been at home and have been walking around their homes barefoot. This can cause the onset of plantar fasciitis. It is important to always have your arch supported! There are many things we can do here in office for your heel pain. We like to start conservatively by doing an examination of your foot and discussing your arch and what type of support you need. We can then offer: taping/padding, anti inflammatories, injections, stretching exercises, and orthotics. If none of these help the heel pain, we can discuss future physical therapy and even possible surgical intervention if warranted. We have an in house digital x-ray machine which makes it quick and easy to examine if there are any secondary heel spurs from the plantar fasciitis. Call us today to book an appointment!
